OBITUARY - FRANK MARSH
It was with great sadness we were advised that Frank Marsh a long time Member and Supporter of the Penarth Rugby Football Club passes away last Saturday morning 13th Ocotber at Llandough Hospital following a short illness.
Frank worked tirelessly for the club as a gateman/ programme seller for many years. Frank retired from this role at the end of season 2005/2006 at the age of 88.
He was a kindly and gentle person who carried out his work always with a smile in all kinds of weather. He enjoyed his couple of pints and a good conversation with the members on match days and called in regularly to the club for his Thursday evening pint.
Frank will be missed by his beloved wife, family and his many friends.

I am pleased once again to report on our intention to continue with the development of a healthy and dynamic spirit that will give the players greater confidence in themselves as individuals and team players.
Our Captain for the past two seasons Andrew Edwards is standing down to concentrate on his Professional exams and I am delighted that Mike Clare has accepted the captaincy once again. Mike did of course captain the club in the seasons 2001/2002 - 2004/2005.
The responsibility for coaching the squad is once again with Moro Smith who is joined this year by Mark Isherwood. Mark, a former Penarth player who brings with him a fresh approach to the training sessions honing the ball skills and awareness of the players. I'm sure that the partnership of these coaches will bring out a quality in the players that will ensure that both Officials and Supporters will once again have much to cheer about.
Last season saw Penarth Rugby Football Club gain promotion to the Division 3 South East. Our intention is to continue from that success and play the game for its enjoyment and for making lasting friendships. Once again I wish the players the success they deserveand our supporters the enjoyment of watching the boys play well throughout the season.
We had a season to remember last year. It's up to the players and ourselves as their supporters to continue that success both on and off the field.
